The Journey of a New Realtor: A Story of Consistency and Growth
There’s not much to shout about when it comes to veteran agents like myself. We understand the importance of consistency and aim to achieve gold awards and higher every month, even though some months are tougher than others. But this year a brand new RES decided to join my team, and her story is worth sharing.
When she first started as a property agent, she had plenty of concerns. I could relate because I had the same worries when I was starting out.
- How would I get leads?
- What should I do when clients ask me something I don’t know how to answer?
- How do I approach online and offline marketing?
- What if I can’t give a proper presentation to my clients?
- How can I get leads without spending too much money?
“As a newbie, having a nurturing and encouraging mentor is very important. I am always thankful that I was in such an environment, with a good mentor who was always there to help me whenever I needed it.”
I believe her concerns are the same concerns many new realtors have as well.
As a new RES (Real Estate Salesperson), she worried about whether it was the right time to enter the market with so much competition. She also wondered when she’d earn her first paycheck. I gave her the honest truth: closing a sale can take 3 to 5 months, including marketing time. It’s not like what you see on social media, where it seems like all agents are making a good income. Some realtors come from better family backgrounds, which is why their chances of closing big deals are higher. But I’ve seen many of these realtors disappear from the market or go MIA because they only aim for bigger deals.
With the guidance, training, and support of our team, she was able to close her first sale in just her third month in the industry! From there, she continued to build momentum, closing her second, third, and many more deals. Her success wasn’t just luck—it was a combination of hard work, belief in PropNex, and the strong training and mentorship we provide in our team.
